While this is a premium product, the software does make it easy to use the Apple Magic Trackpad on your PC. Install the software, allow it access to Bluetooth and anything else it asks for and it finds the trackpad and works right away. I only got to see this in action already installed but the configuration options are generous alone and I was assured installation and configuration was as easy as described. Not all gestures are supported, sometimes the driver freezes or hesitates and sometimes the driver stops altogether.
While my friend loves her Apple Magic Trackpad, she also has a different touchpad that is native to Windows and works just as well as her Apple version. It was less than half the price too! So while you can use the Apple Magic Trackpad on your PC if you want to, there are other options as well. Do you know of any Windows trackpads equal to or even better than the Apple Magic Trackpad? If you have an Apple Magic Trackpad 2 and want to use it on Windows 10 or Windows 11, this tutorial is for you.
The method of getting Apple Magic Trackpad 2 working on your Windows PC is quite straightforward: you just need to download the driver file on GitHub and manually install it on your computer, then your Mac trackpad will work like a charm on your Windows 10 machine.
Note: In the latest release Release , the developer introduces initial Bluetooth connectivity support for Magic Trackpad 2. Work is still in-progress so you might experience certain issues such as input lag or system crash. In the Two Fingers section, select Secondary Click to be able to perform a secondary click by placing two fingers on the trackpad, then clicking. Check if your Mac supports precision touchpad settings In Windows on your Mac, click the Start menu, then choose Settings. In the Settings window, click Devices, then click Touchpad.

Tried to install the older version , the same. Any idea why? It worked for me. At least, I downloaded the AMD version and it worked for these device settings. I followed the instructions up until the installation part. After installing the amddrivers on my laptop, my newly purchased Magic Trackpad 3 immediatly worked perfectly enabling all the gestures including 2-finger-scrolling, which appears to be an occasional issue.

People familiar with me know that I don’t use Apple MacBook so development work of this driver occurs on a Surface Pro 4. People probably think it doesn’t make sense that I started this project. The motivation behind this project origin from complaints from my girlfriend. Hearing about frequent complains about Dell XPS 13’s touchpad though it passed Precision Touchpad certification , I decided to start this project, so by the time she switches to MacBook Pro, she will have excellent touchpad experience out-of-box, even on Windows.
